Sharp launch the AQUOS LC-65GX5 a 65 inch LCD HDTV
September 20th, 2008
Just when you thought large HDTVs were the domain of plasmas, Sharp have come along to try to prove you wrong with a 65 inch AQUOS LCD HDTV, namely the LC-65GX5. This little, or should we say, large sucker is the latest addition to the GX5 range which peaked at 52 inches earlier this year. This latest addition to the family sports the following bells and whistles
* 1080p display
* 15,000:1 contrast ratio
* 450 cd/m2 brightness
* 176 degree viewing angle
* HDMI x3, Composites x3, S-Video and DVI inputs
The LC-65GX5 comes equipped with Sharp’s ARSS 2.1 speaker system. The amp pumps out 7.5 W to each speaker plus 15 W to the sub-woofer. It also features DLNA which means it’ll talk nicely to other DLNA enabled equipment and for photography enthusiasts there’s an infra-red port to send images from your camera straight to the TV.
How about the price tag? The LC-65GX5 is only available in Japan right now and is priced at the equivalent of US$6,500. Not too shabby for a LCD big boy with all the bells and whistles, so we may see the LC-65GX5 gracing a few living rooms over the Christmas period!
