If you’re looking for a sexy Blu-Ray player you can’t go far wrong with the Denon DVD-A1UD. However it’s currently only available in Japan and it’ll also make a sizable dent in your wallet if it does venture to your neck of the woods. But given Denon’s reputation and the following stats an investment in the DVD-A1UD may well be worth it.

Taking on Yamaha’s surround bar the YSP-500, Denon have launched their very own version, the DHT-FS5. The specs are minimal in both themselves and actual figures but here they are anyway.

I’m still not convinced that these suckers produce a ‘true’ surround sound experience and being priced at 65,000 Yen (US$600) it would be an expensive test to run. However if you are short of space and/or don’t like cables lying around your lounge floor than a surround bar could just be what you are looking for.
