Sanyo announce the LP-XU106, the brightest projector in class
August 27th, 2009
We’re not quite sure how Sanyo define the LP-XU106′s class, describing it as ‘ultra-portable’, but 4,500 lumens is pretty impressive for a 3.4 kg projector. Here are the full details on the Sanyo projector to be launched on the 20th of November
* 1,000:1 contrast ratio
* 275W high-output lamp
* Corner Keystone Correction Function – eliminates the distorted trapezoidal screen image caused by projection at an angle
* Auto Keystone Correction function automatically corrects vertical image distortion, after detecting the slope of the projector
* Wired LAN terminal (RJ-45) enables the control and management of the projector over a network
* 4,500 lumens
* 3.4 kgs
* 40” – 300” screen size
* RCA (Video) x 1; S-Video x 1 inputs
* 334.2 x 78.4 x 257.5 mm
The only price mentioned in the Sanyo press release is 575,400 yen which currently converts to US$6,138. This seems a bizarrely high figure given the US$1600 tag applied to Sanyo’s PLV-1080HD projector back in January, so we’ll hold fire on judgement on the LP-XU106 until we get a definite figure nearer the launch in November.
