T-Mobile launch Samsung Memoir aka SGH-T929

T-Mobile Samsung Memoir

T-Mobile have just announced that they will be launching the Samsung Memoir (aka SGH-T929) later this month. The Memoir sports a spiffy 8 Mp camera so sits squarely on the cellphone/camera fence. Other details including a price tag are scarce to say the least but here’s what we do know

* 3G connectivity
* TouchWiz touchscreen interface
* virtual QWERTY keyboard
* HTML browser
* messaging and email
* music player
* GPS
* Bluetooth connectivity

But of course it’s the camera that will sell the Memoir, hence there will be direct uploading to Flickr, PhotoBucket and Snapfish. The camera will also capture video, sport a 16x zoom and have a Xenon flash. There’s a rumour at electronista that the price will be around US$300 even with a two year contract. We’re hoping that’s not true, cos for any unit that straddles two tech arenas there are usually shortcomings in both and $300 seems a bit much for a cellphone/camera combo.
