Sharp BD-HP22U Blu-Ray player

At CES Sharp launched their latest Blu-Ray player, the BD-HP22U which offers 1080p output and will play very nicely indeed with an AQUOS HDTV

when paired with an AQUOS LCD TV (it) allows consumers to appreciate the superior quality of high-definition audio and video content.

The BD-HP22U is also internet enabled so that

Users can download and stream bonus content such as additional scenes, shorts, trailers and multi-player interactive games, providing the consumer full access to content otherwise unattainable.

Other features include

* Profile 2.0 – BD-Live
* 1920 x 1080 video at 24 frames per second output
* HDMI™ 1.3 digital output
* Quick Start feature for quick disc loading
* Dolby® TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio
* Handles BD-ROM/RE/R, DVD Video, DVD-RW/R, DVD+RW/R, and Audio CDs

Perhaps the most notable feature is the price tag, a nice US$300. Shame we’ll have to wait til May for the little sucker, but it could well worth the wait.
