Dell unleash their 7609WU Projector
September 27th, 2008
Probably aimed more at the office rather than your home cinema, Dell have released a new high end projector, the 7609WU. Sporting a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution and 3850 lumens, the 7609WU rocks in with a US$5,000 price tag. Ouch! If you’re still keen here are a few more specs on the 7609WU
* DLP® and BrilliantColorTM technology
* 2,700:1 contrast ratio
* Dual VGA, Dual HDMI, DisplayPort, S-Video, Composite Video, RS232 and Audio-in/Audio-Out connections
* Dual 5W speakers
* long lamp life of up to 2000 hours (normal mode)/2500 hours (eco mode)
* Image Size 20.9 - 301.0 inches (diagonal)
* Projection Distance 3.28 to 39.37 ft (1 m to 12 m)
* 432 mm (17.0″) x 290 mm (11.42″) x 135 mm (5.31″)
* 6.08 kg (13.4 lbs)
The unit does offer a nifty ‘eco-mode’ to make you feel green whilst using the unit. This mode reduces power usage by 10% from 454 watts down to 405 watts, increases the lamp life and lowers the noise output. However we’re not sure that’s enough to persuade your bank manager to give you a personal loan to buy the sucker. If you’re keen to check out some more projectors take a look at testfreaks.com.
