Yahoo tries to fill the gap

After Google Answers was closed Yahoo felt the need to revive their services with some interesting ideas like mixd.com and some less interesting ideas like creating a group for Yahoo! Answers named “Yahoo! Group for former Google Answers Researchers. “.
For now I will talk about mixd, and what can i say?! it gives me mixed feelings. Yahoo! says about mixd:
“Mixd is about going out. Coordinate last-minute meetups, share pictures and videos from your phone, and remember last night on a website we create for you, automatically. How? Mixd is group texting and photo & video sharing. No downloads or installs required. Just text 445566 and you’re off and running.“
In other words what mixed.com whats to do is manage dates out, share phone pics, all this by SMS from your mobile phone. So that’s the first drawback right there, you need to be in the U.S. to use it. Besides that it looks interesting to use for all the clubbing fans and not only. But for that mixd.com needs to have a community and for now I prefer to wait.
