I am going to present you with a new website I have just found out about. It’s called Copyscape and its main purpose is to lower the plagiarism rate over the internet (at least to detect the people who make use of this type of fraud). I have seen many people doing that, copying the exact same source code from somewhere else and claiming ownership and copyright for it.
The free version can show you up to 10 websites that used your content. Registering a Premium account can show you the full list from the database, but you are required to pay 5 cents / search. Another interesting service is the CopySentry option. Priced at 4,95$ / month, it will automatically monitor “the web” for websites that use your content, and e-mail you afterwards.
“SCR-CD001 data destroyer will render any CD/DVD unreadable within five seconds.” that’s what Elcom, the manufacturer of this somewhat handy gadget says. If you ever need to render a CD/DVD completely useless you can use this small, ( 60×20×50 millimeters ) light ( 130 grams) device that uses any USB connection that can supply 500mA and comes with a price of approx. US$26.72 .
Besides the fact that is somewhat small, portable and stylish this device is quite useless, I mean it can do 12 CDs/DVDs in 1 minute (that’s if you move fast). Well i can smash more with a hammer in the same amount of time, but then again maybe the targeted market segment for this gadget prefers more delicate ways of handling things.
The following clip pictures an artist controlling a digital marionette by tilting the laptop into various positions. It’s a bit hilarious. I’ve enjoyed it. What’s the explanation?
The Powerbooks are equipped with a motion sensor that can be accessed by software. The owner of this Powerbook wrote a small processing application that reads out the sensor. The digital representation of the marionette reacts to the sensor output and can be controlled by moving the laptop.
Lately, three pictures that claim to be of the highly discussed Sony Ericsson Slim “AI” phone were spreaded on the Internet. We don’t know for sure if the pictures are of the actual device itself, but there’s a high chance of truth in this one, even if it wasn’t officially confirmed by SE.
This seems like a serious competitor for RAZR. What’s so special about this phone? It’s supposed to be only 9.4 mm in thick (or thin :P), a case made of rubberized plastic material and aluminum insets, and it’s supposed to have a 2 megapixels camera, and to be fully 3G compatible.
No further comments. I’ll let you guys enjoy the preliminary pictures. Don’t hesitate to share your opinion with us.

No, I am not talking to you. That’s an on-topic quote from one of my favorite movies. What I’m going to talk about further, is the new television concept brought to us by AU Optronics. I’m sure that all of you have already watched at least one movie on a LCD screen. How did it feel? The first time I used a LCD I was very thrilled because I was owning such a trendy piece of technology ;)
Well, Optronics decided to take this further and produce the largest LCD-based television that exists so far. How big is really the biggest? 65 inch in this case. That’s huge, knowing the fact that the biggest panel on the market right now does not exceed 50 inch.
As for the market view, the competition exists, of course. We were curious what convinced AUO into jumping from 47 inch (their biggest so far) all the way up to 65. It seems they fell behind of the above mentioned competition, and they’ve been trying to catch up. Good for them. However, it is expected that by the end of 2007, they will launch the intermediary series of television sets to complete the stock.
AUO will ship the first series of the 65 inch panels somewhere around July 2007.

Samsung announced a prototype 0.82mm thick QVGA (240×320) LCD display, which makes it the thinnest display in the world, 0.07mm thinner than the panel previously reported to be the world’s slimmest. A typical mobile LCD screen has a 2-3mm space before adding a reinforced plastic sheet to protect it.
In Samsung’s new i-Lens process, a shock-resistant protective sheet is fastened directly to the LCD module, thereby eliminating the space between it and the panel surface.
The display has a contrast ratio of 500:1 and a luminosity of 300nits. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2007.
