Vista comes early

November 19th, 2006

Microsoft decided to make Vista available for the Microsoft Developer Network subscribers and TechNet. Since November 16 users of the mentioned services can download the final version of Vista, and the free Vista download using Microsoft Connect site (the download is available for beta-testers who submitted one or more bugs). In the same time the Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) was released, which is basically a set of installation tools similar to the ones Microsoft traditionally has made available to PC makers that should enable customers to deploy Vista more quickly.

However November 30 is still the official business launch for Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange Server 2007. And January 30 is the date upon which Microsoft will allow PC makers and retail outlets to begin selling Vista and Office 2007 and we can expect more feedback then.
