8.6 Gigapixel photo

While I was browsing today I found this webpage. It has 2 pictures, but that’s not everything special about it. The first picture is a 300 megapixel image (I thought this was extraordinary, but I had no idea). The second picture is a 8,6 GIGApixel photo. It represents “The partition of Santa Maria Delle Grazie’s Church”, and it is actually a combination of 1145 images, each taken at 12.5 megapixels. The whole image size is more than 8 billion pixels. Okay, enough description, just watch the pic.

wonder if the artists ever imagined theyr work would be examined by so many in such close detail, and if they would have put more effort in ;), very cool
